Cade Gebbers

Our family would like to thank each of you that have been there, prayed and reached out offering help to us this past year since we lost Cade.  We are so blessed by each one of you.  The kindness you have shown our family has held us up, encouraged us to keep walking and has pointed our minds and hearts to Christ when we needed Him the most.

We met grief in the fiercest way.  Each of us still struggles as we grieve; but the good news is we have a Lord and Savior that promises to walk with us in the darkest valley.  Jesus has kept His promises; even on our darkest days.  We have seen with our own eyes how God can take our brokenness and make beauty from the most unimaginable situation.

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.”  ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:13-17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Someday we will be whole again when we are in heaven.  God has a plan for each of us each day and He provides strength each morning to be used of Him and love each other.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.”  ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:3-7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When hard things happen you have to grab onto something you can trust.  Turn to Jesus the author and perfecter who knows the number of hairs on your head and knows you fully.  God did not promise we would not face loss.  God never promised us that this life would be without pain, suffering or brokenness.  What he did promise is far greater, the source of our joy in loss and the eternal promises of God.

He will not leave us or forsake us.  Deuteronomy 31:8
He will walk with us through the darkest valley.  Leviticus 26:12
Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.  Romans 8:38-39

Cade choosing to leave this earth has left a gaping hole in our hearts.  Cade had such a gentleness, work ethic, spark and light in who God made him.  We miss him in a thousand ways everyday and nothing will replace him.  We believe that suicide is blind.  Blinding shame that blots out any ability for the truth that we are not what we do.  Our value is not found in family, sports, school, or friends.  These things are temporary and will fail us.  Our value is found in a Savior that came to earth 2,000 years ago to save you.  Jesus is the answer in everything and fixing our eyes upon His truth offers the free gift of eternal life for all who will receive it and His love can give peace in sorrow when the storms of life rage.  God stays close in your biggest storms and deepest pits.  We believe that anxiety, depression and suicide do not discriminate.  Nothing on this earth will bring happiness that is long term.  Real peace, love, joy and contentment come from Jesus Christ alone.

God says don’t worry about your future.  He is the author of your story and He’s already written the final chapter.  He is creating a masterpiece in you, please CHOOSE to stay because your story is not over.

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.  You guide with Your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.  Psalms 73:23-24

#cg4  We love you Cade💛

More than anything, my wish for you is this: That when your awful darkest days come, you will know you’re not alone. Pain will tell you to keep quiet, but that’s a lie. Life is fragile and we all break in different ways. I hope you know you can be honest. I hope you know that you can ask for help. Did you catch that?

IT IS ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY
OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP.

It simply means you’re human. Help is real and it is possible; people find it every day.
